Conway, Ark.- The ASUN Conference announces
Nate Negre as the Baseball Player of the Week.
The Bears went 2-1 last weekend in their ASUN series with Bellarmine. In Game 1 of the series on Friday,
Nate Negre went 3-6 scoring 3 runs with 1 double, 2 home runs and 7 rbi. The Bears won Game 1 17-12. In Game 3 on Sunday, Negre went 3-4 scoring 2 runs with 2 doubles, 1 home run and 4 rbi. Negre's 3-run home run in the bottom of the 7
th gave the Bears the lead 8-7, which turned out to be the final score. Negre, playing short stop all weekend, had a 100% fielding percentage for the weekend.

Nate Negre, "I am thankful for Nate. He really cares about our program. He is a very talented player that wants to be great and wants to win. He continues to mature in his approach, both offensively and defensively and is very intentional about how he prepares. It is great to see his discipline pay off. Nate was a difference maker this weekend".
This week the Bears have a mid-week game at Arkansas on Tuesday evening, first pitch at 6 p.m. On the weekend, the Bears will have an ASUN series at home with Austin Peay; Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m.
