As Central Arkansas continues to grow and prosper as a Division I program, the school's athletics facilities have grown and prospered accordingly. Since the beginning of last year, Central Arkansas has seen its most exciting period of growth in regards to facilities in the 100-plus year history of the school. Virtually every facility has received major upgrades, and more exciting projects have been announced and will begin taking shape in the coming months.

A new state-of-the-art strength and conditioning complex is in the works and is scheduled for completion within the next year. The complex, which will be more than three times the size of the current facility housed inside Estes Stadium, will allow all student-athletes more and better opportunities to train and maximize their athletic potential.

Luxury suites will be in place at Estes Stadium for the 2012 season, giving fans a comfortable, unique viewing experience with many amenities. And there has been much buzz about the unprecedented purple and gray artificial turf for the football field, which was installed in the summer of 2011 to much fanfare.

After opening for the 2009 baseball season, Bear Stadium received a new playing surface in the fall of 2010, with 2011 being the first season played on the synthetic GeoGreen surface infield.

Farris Field, the UCA softball facility, received the same synthetic surface in the fall of 2011 along with a large grass berm spanning nearly foul pole to foul pole for outfield viewing. A new elevated grandstand was also erected at Farris Field for the 2011 season, and a 1,200 locker room facility is under construction.

The Farris Center, UCA's basketball arena, has also undergone a number of upgrades in the past year. A large video board was installed for the 2010-11 season along with three other new scoreboards, and the court underwent an overhaul during the summer of 2010 – resulting in one of the most striking floors in the nation with the oversized logo at midcourt and contrasting shades of hardwood inside the arc and out. Player areas for both men's and women's teams were overhauled as well, from locker rooms to showers to a film room with theater seating.

More changes are coming to the Farris Center for the 2011-12 season, with hundreds of chairback seats being added on the court level at either end of the floor and along the east side opposite the benches and scorer's table.

A number of improvements were also made to the Prince Center, the intimate and intimidating home of the highly successful UCA volleyball program. Capacity was increased with additional seating and the construction of a new student section, and several improvements were made to the locker room area, including a film room and player lounge.

The Bill Stephens Track/Soccer Complex, which opened in 2009 and features Mondotrack – the same track surface used in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics – surrounding a first-class soccer field, received a new permanent sound system this spring.

The school's men's and women's golf programs have also benefited greatly from an indoor practice facility at The Greens at Nutters Chapel, the school's home course which opened in 2010.
