Fayetteville, Ark. – The Central Arkansas cross country teams competed in the NCAA South Central Regional on Friday. The women's team claimed a 19
th place finish and the men finished 18
th.
Madeline Hill added another career accolade, earning a place on the NCAA South Central All-Region Team with a 24
th place finish, crossing the finish line at 21:08.5.
Bears head coach,
Josey Weaver said that it was a great way for Hill to wrap up her career.
"What a day for the Bears," Weaver said. "The highlight of the day was
Madeline Hill's All-Region performance. That is extremely hard to accomplish and I've had the pleasure of watching Madeline chase this goal the past four years. What a way for her to end her career as a Bear!"
Abby Machesky placed 102
nd coming in at 22:46.0.
Sequoya Prentice finished the 6k in 22:58.5, just ahead of
Lydia Butler, who came in at a personal best time of 23:19.7.
Liz Browning clocked in at 23:57.5, while
Alexis Frick and Kalyi Myers were just behind at 25:00.3 and 25:19.6.
The men's side saw a pair of Bears take top-100 finishes.
Jack Dingman came in 65
th place with a 32:03.4 time, while
Trae Baker was just behind, coming in at 32:42.9 for a 94
th place finish.
Mason Bickle and
Ky Bickford finished just a second apart with times of 33:18.8 and 33:19.8, a personal best time for Bickford.
Logan Dingman finished the 10k in 34:12.6.
Samuel Morales finished in 35:02.4 and
Dane Janowski crossed the finish line at 35:08.3.
"Our teams showed up today and competed tough. We got to see where we are as a team and what we need to work on for the year ahead. Very proud of this group for growing throughout this year. Now it's time to transition to Track & Field. We expect big things ahead for this group," Weaver said.
