CONWAY, Ark. – The Bears got the job done in the classroom as well as the trail this season with five student-athletes honored as Academic All-ASUN standouts, including a Scholar-Athlete of the Year recognition.
Madeline Hill earned the honor of ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the year for 2025. The three-time All-ASUN performer has maintained a 4.0 GPA, majoring in Health Promotion. Hill has led the Bears in each race this year, placing first in the UCA Bear Invitational, and 11th in the ASUN Championships, earning a place on the All-ASUN Second Team. This is Hill's third selection to the academic team as well.
Alexis Frick and Sequoya Prentice also earned the Academic All-ASUN nod from the women's side.
Frick, wrapping up her junior cross country season in the Purple and Gray, holds a 3.67 GPA as a Communications major. She placed seventh in the UCA Bear Invitational this season. This is Frick's first selection to the academic team.
Prentice is finishing up her senior season and has maintained a 3.86 GPA, majoring in Dietetics. She placed fifth in the UCA Bear Invitational as well as 38th in this year's ASUN Championship race. This is Prentice's first academic team selection.
On the men's side, Mason Bickle and Jack Dingman were named to the Academic All-ASUN Team.
Bickle, a senior Healthcare Administration major, holds a 3.90 GPA. He finished fifth in this year's UCA Bear Invitational as well as 31st in the 2025 ASUN Championship race. This is Bickle's first academic team selection.
Dingman, wrapping up his graduate year donning the Purple and Gray, holds a 3.67 GPA as a Computer Science major. Dingman has been a leader for the Bears this season, finishing second in the UCA Bear Invitational and 26th in the 2025 ASUN Championship race. This is Dingman's second academic team honor.
UCA head coach, Josey Weaver, said that having six selections to the academic team is an exciting accomplishment.
"For our program to have five individuals on the Academic All-ASUN Team shows the level of commitment and dedication that our student-athletes have on and off the course," Weaver said. "I am very happy for these individuals to achieve this prestigious honor. What a way for Madeline Hill to go out as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year."
This marks the fifth straight year the Bears have had at least one academic all-conference honoree.
