Cross Country Teams to Compete in NCAA South Central Regionals

CONWAY, Ark. – NCAA Regionals are upon us, and the Central Arkansas cross country teams are ready to hit the ground running as they compete on Friday. The women will open the day with a 6K at 9 a.m., before the men run a 10K at 10 a.m. The meet is scheduled to take place in College Station, Texas.

The Bears previously ran at Texas A&M, back in October. There, Pete Johnson broke the men's 8K record, finishing in 23:39.7. He was one of five Bears on the men's team to break a PR. Madeline Hill led the women's team, who finished 17th out of 41 teams.

Central Arkansas' last time out on the course was the ASUN Championships, in which the women's team finished in third place. Hill, along with Ali Nactigal and Kayleigh Wagnon, earned All-ASUN honors for finishing in the top-21 racers. Johnson also claimed a spot on the men's side, finishing well enough to grab a Third Team All-ASUN place.

The Bears open up the South Central Regional at 9 a.m., with the women's 6K. They will be followed by the men, who will run their 10K at 10 a.m. For live stats during the races, visit the race website.
