JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of Central Arkansas Bears traveled to Florida for the 2022 ASUN Outdoor Track and Field Championships. After three days of competition, the women's team placed 7^th overall and the men's team placed 3^rd overall.
 
Breaking Tamera Rhode's record of 54.88 in the women's 400m dash from yesterday, Tyler Rose placed 2^nd with a personal record time of 54.52, breaking the record by 0.36. Tyler Rose held the record before Tamera Rhode with her time of 55.10 at the Crimson Invitational on April 22-23 of this year.
Setting the UCA record, Symone Quiles placed 6^th in the women's 400m Hurdles with a personal record time of 1:03.01, breaking the previous record by 0:01.90.
Tristan LaVan placed 1^st in the men's 400m dash with a time of 46.77.

In the men's 4x100 relay, the UCA team of Kobe Gill, Emmanuel Olie, Suen Wesley, and Alec Townsley placed 4^th with a time of 41.22.
Jordan Atkins placed 2^nd in the men's 110m Hurdles with a time of 14.45. Tyrone Luckett placed 7^th with a 15.86 and Preston Barker placed 8^th with a 15.86.
Ayana Harris placed 5^th in the women's 100m Hurdles with a time of 14.33.
Tristan LaVan placed 1^st in the men's 400m dash with a time of 46.77. Jaiden Ventour placed 3^rd with a personal record time of 47.53 and Shamal Sullivan placed 5^th with a time of 49.00.
Setting the UCA record, Tyler Rose placed 2^nd in the women's 400m dash with a personal record time of 54.52. Talayssia Sanders placed 6^th with a 55.59 and Tamera Rhode placed 7^th with a 55.82.
Wesley Suen placed 6^th in the men's 100m dash with a personal record time of 10.54.
Laila Cleare placed 9^th in the women's 100m dash with a personal record time of 11.97.
Tyrone Luckett placed 8^th in the men's 400m Hurdles with a personal record time of 57.34.
Setting the UCA record, Symone Quiles placed 6^th in the women's 400m Hurdles with a personal record time of 1:03.01.
In the men's 5000m, Julian Haessner placed 4^th with a time of 14:41.85 and Hunter Henderson placed 16^th with a personal record time of 15:47.40.
Ali Nachtigal placed 22^nd in the women's 5000m with a personal record time of 19:25.41.
In the men's 4x400 relay, the UCA team of Armonte Paulk, Jaiden Ventour, Shamal Sullivan, and Tristan LaVan placed 2^nd with a time of 3:09.42.
In the women's 4x400 relay, the UCA team of Talayssia Sanders, Zadie St. Louis, Symone Quiles, and Tyler Rose placed 3^rd with a time of 3:43.80.
 
Field Events
In the women's Discus Throw, Kiara Williams placed 10^th with a throw of 32.56m (106' 10"). Joy Nance placed 11^th with a throw of 31.27m (102' 7") and Jalyn Akins placed 12^th with a throw of 29.59m (97' 1").
Parker Benefield placed 5^th in the men's Pole Vault with a jump of 4.52m (14' 10").
Jalal Taylor placed 5^th in the men's Triple Jump with a jump of 14.30m (46' 11").
In the men's Shot Put, Malik Beasley placed 10^th with a throw of 14.14m (46' 4.25") and Maximillian Laur placed 12^th with a throw of 12.94m (42' 5.5").
Jenny Peake placed 10^th in the women's Javelin Throw with a throw of 37.30m (122' 4").

"It's been a long, but successful three days at the ASUN Championships. We're very thankful for the University of North Florida for hosting and the ASUN for putting on such a quality meet. It was, as usual, a roller coaster at the championships, but overall, the athletes absolutely crushed it considering all the factors going into the championships. I couldn't be more proud of this crew and all of their accomplishments."
