FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Central Arkansas track and field teams completed the final tune up before the ASUN Indoor Championships with day two of the Tyson Invitational on Saturday. 
 
Bailee Villavaso claimed a second-place finish in the women's pole vault event. Villavaso came into the event holding the school record with a 4.02-meter (13-2.25) vault. On her first jump she cleared 3.85 meters (12-7.5). She then cleared 4.00 meters (12-1.5) on her first attempt, setting her up for a school record height. 
 
After missing on her first two attempts, Villavaso cleared the 4.15-meter (13-7.25) mark, securing a new school record. She was not finished however. Again, after missing on her first two attempts she cleared 4.25 meters (13-11.25), securing the school record, ASUN record and a second-place finish. 
 
Villavaso joins Jack Dingman as record breakers this weekend. Like Villavaso, Dingman also broke his own record in the men's one-mile run. His time of 4:01.73 earned a 36^th place finish out of 283 finishers in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston on Friday. 
 
Central Arkansas head coach, Josey Weaver said he was proud of the way the pair of record-breaking Bears performed this weekend. 
 
"It's always great to leave a weekend with school records falling and an ASUN record as well," Weaver said. "I'm super proud of Jack Dingman and Bailee Villavaso for chasing the best version of themselves. We will look to have our entire team follow in their footsteps in two weeks."
 
The Bears will set their sights on the ASUN Indoor Championship meet in two weeks. 
 
"We seem to be in a really good spot heading into the ASUN Championships, and we will use these next two weeks to prep mentally for the task ahead," Weaver said of his team.
