AUSTIN, Texas – The Central Arkansas track and field completed the first day of competition at the Texas Relays and Bobcat invitational. The Bears claimed five top-five finishes on the first day of the meets.
Bailee Villavaso broke her own school record as Central Arkansas' lone athlete competing in the Texas Relays on Thursday. Her pole vault mark of 4.00 meters (13-01.5) earned a 5
th place finish in the event.
At the Bobcat Invitational, freshman
Zoe Williams earned a 2
nd place finish in Section B of the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.96 and
Jane Musengwa marked at 42.33 meters (138-10) in Section B of the discus throw, placing 5
th.
Kylie Coleman also claimed a 5
th place finish in Section B of the pole vault after clearing 3.45 meters (11-03.75).
On the men's side, Jeff King broke his own school record in the javelin throw, marking at 66.56 meters (218-04), earning the top finish in the event.
Halfway through the men's decathlon event,
Sloan Jones sits in 4
th place, 383 points behind the leader, and
Nathan Uptagrafft is in 5
th place, 467 points behind the leader.
The Bobcat Invitational will resume for Friday's session at 10 a.m. with the women's hammer throw and 110-meter hurdles event of the men's decathlon. Live results will be provided
