Bears Heading Back to Birmingham for Southland Championships

CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Central Arkansas men's and women's track & field teams return to Birmingham, Alabama, for the 2020 Southland Indoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday, March 1. The championships will conclude on Monday, March 2.
 
Aysha Anderson, Bekah Bostian, Jordan Brock, Julia Clark, Taylor Coleman, Taylor Conway, Ajah Criner, Casey Gore, Ayanna Harris, Lyndsey Hover, Gracie Hyde, Z'Kiah Kuykendall, Jennifer Peake, La Laylah Pleasant, Tamara Reeves, Tyler Rose, Kayla Scott, Teshuna Sheppard, Sierra Temple, and Erin Woodward will represent the women in Birmingham.
 
Temple and Criner are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the conference in the 60m. Criner holds the SLC's third-best run in the 200m. In the 800m, Brock is ranked No. 9. Hyde holds the best mark in the mile in the conference and is second best in the 3,000m. Woodward has the sixth-best run in the 3,000m, while Reeves holds the conference's 10th-best time. Bostian is ranked No. 9 in the 5,000m. Coleman has the Southland's sixth-best leap in the triple jump.
 
Johnson Adegbite, Luke Anthony, Jesse Applewhite, Joshua Armstead, Jordan Atkins, Malik Beasley, Zac Bitton, Johnathan Blair, Charles Christian, Luis Colon, Timon Dresselhaus, Logan Hall, Jared Hamilton, Alex Hanson, Hunter Henderson, Niklas Iking, Zachary Jewell, Timquorian Johnson, James Kees, Logan Murray, Max Nores, Aidan Patton, Simon Schneider, Jared Touart, Bruce White, and Ryan Yarde will compete on the men's side.
 
Jewell finds himself in the No. 2 spot in the Southland in the 60m and No. 7 in the 200m. Hanson comes into the conference meet with the fastest time in the 800m and fourth-best mark in the mile. Hamilton holds the SLC's ninth-fastest run in the mile. Nores has the eighth-best run in the 5,000m. Atkins is ranked No. 5 in the 60m hurdles. Hall has the third-best height in the high jump and Johnson holds down the No. 9 spot. Beasley and Patton rank No. 4 and No. 9, respectively, in the shot put. Patton has the eighth-best toss in the weight throw.
 
The women's pentathlon 60m hurdles starts the 2020 Southland Championships at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
