CONWAY, Ark. – Following a sweep of the ASUN Outdoor Championships, the Central Arkansas track and field teams will send 10 athletes to compete in the NCAA West Region First Round in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Three Bears,
Brenae Allen,
Raghan Allen, and
Troynelle Miller will compete in the women's 100-meter dash.
Brenae Allen and
Raghan Allen enter the meet coming off a first and second-place finish in the event at the ASUN Championships, and ranked 48
th on the West Region leaderboard. Miller was right behind them at the ASUN Championships, finishing third in the event, and coming in at 63
rd on the West Region rankings.
Brenae Allen will also compete in the women's 200-meter dash, coming off a conference championship run in the event. She enters the meet ranked 60
th on the West Region leaderboard.
Karis Martin will compete in the women's long jump event, following a fifth-place finish at the ASUN Championships.
Joia Perry will compete for the Bears in the women's hammer throw, following a conference record, school record, and gold medal mark at the ASUN Championships. Perry enters the event ranked 17
th on the West Region leaderboard.
Rounding out the women's athletes,
Symone Quiles will compete in the 400-meter hurdles event for Central Arkansas. Quiles finished fourth in the event at the ASUN Championships.
On the men's side,
Jaden Schneeberger and
Treavor Green will compete in the hammer throw. Schneeberger earned a gold medal and new school record in the event at the ASUN Championships, and enters as the 22
nd ranked athlete in the West Region. Green earned a silver medal in the event at the ASUN Championships, and enters ranked 40
th in the West Region.
Schneeberger will also compete for the Bears in the men's shot put event, following another gold medal and school record at the ASUN Championships. Schneeberger enters as the 27
th ranked athlete in the event in the West Region.
Keaton Hansard will compete in the 400-meter dash event, after a first-place finish in the event at the ASUN Championships. Hansard enters as the 50
th ranked athlete in the West Region in the event.
Jeff King will compete for the Bears in the javelin throw following his gold medal at the ASUN Championships. King enters the meet ranked 31
st in the event in the West Region.
The meet is set to begin on Wednesday at 9 a.m. with the men's hammer throw. Live results be provided by
