Central Arkansas Women’s 4x100m Team Qualifies for NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Central Arkansas track and field team completed the final day of the NCAA West Region First Round meet on Saturday in Fayetteville.

The Bears women's 4x100-meter relay team will be moving on to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon after a qualifying run on Saturday. The team of Brenae Allen, Baleigh Cashion, Raghan Allen, and Troynelle Miller combined to run a 44.57 to move on to Nationals.

"Watching our women's 4x100m relay team qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon is incredibly special," Bears head coach, Josey Weaver, said. "I'm very proud and very impressed by the growth they've shown throughout this season. What makes it even more exciting is this was only the third time this group has run together."

"These young ladies believed in something bigger when they came to the University of Central Arkansas. During recruiting, many of them talked about wanting to put UCA on the map — and now they're getting ready to represent our university on the national stage in Oregon," Weaver said.

This marks the first time Central Arkansas will have representatives on the women's side at the NCAA Championship meet, and the fourth trip to Nationals in men's and women's Division I program history. The team will be the first competitors for Central Arkansas at Nationals since the men's 4x100-meter relay team in 2024.

"I'm also very proud of all of our athletes who competed this weekend at the NCAA First Round Championships. Just qualifying for this meet is extremely difficult, and advancing through it is an even greater challenge," Weaver said.

The men's representatives competed on Thursday with four Bears taking part in four events.

Treavor Green and Jaden Schneeberger competed in the men's hammer throw event. Green came in 26th with a 61.85-meter (202-11) toss, while Schneeberger marked at 61.11 meters (200-06).

Schneeberger also threw in the shot put event, coming in 22nd with a toss of 18.17 meters (59-07.5).

Keaton Hansard represented Central Arkansas in the men's 400-meter dash. Hansard crossed the finish line in 47.54, finishing 43rd

Jeff King also represented the Bears in the javelin throw. King marked at 59.28 meters (194-06), placing 39th

The women competed on Friday's session of the regional.

Joia Perry competed in the women's hammer throw event. Perry marked at 57.90 meters (189-11) to place 29th overall.

Brenae Allen and Raghan Allen both ran in the women's 100-meter dash. Brenae Allen ran an 11.68 to finish 40th, while Raghan Allen finished 44th with a time of 11.85.

"Our program continues to grow, and I truly believe the best is yet to come for the UCA Bears," Weaver remarked.

The women's 4x100-meter relay team will compete at the NCAA Championships on June 11th at 7:05 p.m.
