CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Central Arkansas men's and women's cross country teams begin their postseason Friday, as they host the 2019 Southland Conference Championships at Beaverfork Lake Park. This is the first time in program history in which the Bears have hosted any conference championship. The women are on the course first as they are slated for an 8:15 a.m. start, followed by the men at 9:15 a.m.
The competition will be stiff as the women's race will feature four of the top-15 teams in the South Central Region, according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Stephen F. Austin leads the Southland at No. 6, followed by Abilene Christian at No. 9, the defending Southland Champions Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at No. 12 and McNeese State at No. 15. The men are led by No. 4 Lamar, followed by No. 12 Abilene Christian, No. 14 McNeese State, and No. 15 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Erin Woodward will be on the 6K course for the Bears. They will look to bring home the first Southland Conference title and first conference championship since 1998, when UCA won the Gulf South title.

Parker Jackson,
Max Nores,
Simon Schneider, and
Jared Touart. The Bears look to defend their 2018 title and look to win the third conference title in program history.
