Conway – The Southland Conference has released its All-Academic teams for Outdoor Track and Field, and four Bears have been honored. Seniors Jordan Chadwick, Kayla Nehus, and Erika Setzler, and sophomore Brooke Cassar all made the team after successful seasons both on the field and in the classroom. Cassar and Setzler were both automatic selections and Cassar was a U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic selection, while Chadwick and Setzler are being honored with their second selections to the SLC All-Academic teams.
Chadwick, from Bryant, Arkansas, ran the 800 meters for the Bears, turning in top-three finishes in four of the five races she competed in. At the Rhodes Open on March 15^th, she set a new school record in the event, winning the race with a time of 2:14.77. Majoring in Health Science-Physical Therapy, she compiled a GPA of 4.00.

Nehus, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, competed in four different events for the Bears. She turned in top-ten finishes in the 800 meters and 1,500 meters, and had a top-five finish in the mile run. Majoring in Communication Science and Disorders, she had a GPA of 3.81.

Setzler, from Conway, Arkansas, ran the 3,000 meter steeplechase and the 5,000 meters this season. She had three top-ten finishes in the steeplechase and added three more in the 5,000 meters. She was the SLC champion in the steeplechase, winning the race in a school-record time of 10:20.56. She had a GPA of 3.19 while majoring in Kinesiology/Physical Education.

Cassar, a native of Woonona, New South Wales, Australia, ran the 5,000 meters and the 10,000 meters this year. She collected three wins, and two other top-three finishes. At the Rhodes Open, she set a new school record in the 5,000 meters, winning the race with a time of 16:53.95, and she also set a new school record in the 10,000 meters, winning the race at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships with a time of 37:06.15. She turned in a GPA of 4.00 while majoring in Physical Therapy.
