Bears Host Hornets in Thursday Action

CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer team is back in action at home on Thursday, hosting Alabama State at the Bill Stephens Track and Soccer Complex. Kickoff against the Hornets is set for 7 p.m.

The Bears (0-2-1) earned a draw at Arkansas State on Sunday, picking up a 2-2 tie in Jonesboro. Jama Akpanudo got the scoring started shortly after halftime, and Megan Moudy tallied the second goal of the afternoon for the Bears. Both goals put the Bears in the lead, but both times, Arkansas State was able to find an answer.

Central Arkansas has improved over each game, and now looks to continue that trend against Alabama State. It will be the first-ever matchup with the Hornets, and will be just the second home game of the season for the Bears.

Alabama State (0-4) heads to Conway after dropping a 5-0 decision at Kennesaw State. The Hornets have only scored once this season, falling in shutout fashion in the three other matches this season. The Hornets hit the road for just the second time this season to head to Conway.

The lone goal this season was scored by Serenity Safeeullah, a shot she finished in the sixth minute against Presbyterian. She returns this season as last year's leading scorer, having notched three goals in 2025.

Kickoff against Alabama State is set for 7 p.m. at the Bill Stephens Track and Soccer Complex. The match will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available online. As always, attendance at Central Arkansas soccer matches is free.
