Bears and Wolves Face Off in UAC Match

CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer team gears up for its third and final match of its road swing, heading down to Carrollton, Georgia to take on West Georgia. Kickoff against the Wolves is set for 12 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

The Bears (4-6-3, 1-2-1 UAC) had another nail-biter last time out, dropping a 1-0 final at EKU on Thursday. The match featured the lone team in the conference that has not lost or tied a match yet, and saw the teams combine for 32 shots, 17 of which were on frame. Unfortunately for the Bears, the Colonels were able to sneak one of those shots in, and the Bears couldn't find an equalizer.

As the teams cross the midway point of the UAC season, the Bears are still in a position where any kind of result, any point, is helpful in the table. Unlike the Blue Division in the UAC, the Red Division is still wide open, with a team capable of going from fourth to second with a single win.

Sunday's game will be just the second time the teams have faced off, with the lone other match coming in 2024. Central Arkansas grabbed a win after securing a PK late in the match, converting for a 1-0 win in Carrollton.

West Georgia (0-9-2, 0-4 UAC) welcomes the Bears struggling this season, the offense only producing five goals to this point in the season. The Wolves dropped their last UAC game against Little Rock, falling 3-0 to the Trojans. Little Rock was able to grab a pair of penalties in the first half before securing a third goal in the second half.

Kickoff against the Wolves is set for 12 p.m. CT on Sunday. The match will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available online.
