CONWAY, Ark. – After another quality week between the posts, senior goalkeeper
Anna Kathryn Harrell was named the UAC Goalkeeper of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Harrell claims her first Goalkeeper of the Week award after putting together a busy match at Abilene Christian over the weekend. Helping the Bears battle to a 1-1 draw, the senior keeper registered a career-high 13 saves against the Wildcats, stopping an impressive onslaught of attacks to earn Central Arkansas a point in the UAC table.
With Harrell in goal, the Bears now sit in a tie for second place in the UAC's Red Division. Three games into the conference slate, the Bears are 1-1-1, including Harrell's shutout against Little Rock last week. This season, Harrell has 41 saves, making five or more in four matches.
Harrell and the Bears are back on the road this week, heading up to Richmond, Kentucky on Thursday to face EKU. Kickoff against the Colonels is set for 3 p.m. CT.
