JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Bears continued their leading ways in day two of the ASUN Track and Field Championships on Friday. The Bears claimed nine podium finishes on Friday, and one gold medal. The Bears sit atop the ASUN leaderboard after the first two days, leading by 50 points on the men's side and 56 points on the women's side.
Keirstin Moore and
Madisyn Crandall started the day off on the right foot with silver and bronze medal finishes in the women's heptathlon event.
Emily Morrison and
Savannah Carrigan also earned scoring finishes for the Bears in the event.
Nathan Uptagrafft secured the lone gold medal of the day for Central Arkansas with a first-place finish in the men's decathlon. His total score of 7033 points also earned him a new school record.
Alexander Anderson and
Sloan Jones completed the podium sweep for the Bears with their silver and bronze medal finishes.
Lance McNew and
Levi Dugger rounded out the scoring finishes for Central Arkansas in the event finishing fifth and sixth.
Serena Degollado earned a new school record in the shot put event with a throw of 14.33 meters (47-00.25), good for a second-place finish.
Joy Nance earned a third-place finish in the event with a mark of 14.12 meters (46-04).
Davin James claimed a silver medal in the high jump event, clearing 1.68 meters (5-06).
Emily Morrison also earned a scoring finish for the Bears with a 1.55-meter (5-01) leap.
In the women's long jump,
Keirstin Moore claimed a bronze medal, jumping 5.85 meters (19-2.5) and
Karis Martin cleared 5.80 meters (19-00.5) for a fifth-place finish.
Eli Jones and
Nathan Uptagrafft earned fourth and fifth-place finishes in the discus throw. Jones marked at 45.09 meters (147-11) while Uptagrafft came in at 43.73 meters (143-05).
Jaden Schneeberger also earned a scoring finish, coming in eighth place.
Maverick Walker earned a fourth-place finish in the long jump event with a leap of 7.28 meters (23-10.75).
The final session of the Championships will resume with field events on Saturday at 2 p.m. Running events will kick off 5 p.m. Live results will be provided by
