CONWAY, Ark. – The 2025 volleyball season is just around the corner, and the Central Arkansas Sugar Bears have a great schedule to look forward to this year. With 26 games on the schedule, including 12 at home, the Sugar Bears have plenty of opportunities to catch the action in the Prince Center.
The Sugar Bears have two exhibitions, with the annual Purple vs. Gray game on August 21
st at 6 p.m. After a final tune-up at Missouri State, Central Arkansas opens its season in Houston Texas, playing in a tournament hosted by Rice on August 30
th and 31
st. There, the Sugar Bears will face Texas A&M and the Owls before returning home.
The Central Arkansas Invitational kicks off the home slate, and takes place from September 5
th-7
th. The Sugar Bears will host Little Rock, Southeastern Louisiana and Boston College in five total games over the weekend, with Central Arkansas facing each team once. The team hits the road again for a trip to Chicago, playing three teams in the Windy City. The next two games feature a home-and-home against Oklahoma, with the road game on September 18
th and the home game on the 21
st.
ASUN play begins after that, with the first three matches at home. The Sugar Bears open their fifth season in the ASUN against Lipscomb on September 26
th, then hosts Austin Peay (9/28) and North Alabama (10/1). Five of the first six conference games are at home, which is then reciprocated by an even stretch in October before closing the regular season with four-straight on the road.
Other home ASUN games include FGCU (10/10), Stetson (10/12), Bellarmine (10/24), EKU (10/26), and finally Jacksonville (11/1). The match against the Dolphins will be senior day for the Sugar Bears, honoring those that have completed their careers in Purple and Gray. The regular season ends on November 14
th at Bellarmine.
The Sugar Bears are looking to add to their resume from last season, a year in which the team earned the conference's No. 2 seed and earned a plethora of postseason awards, including Coach of the Year for
John Newberry and Setter of the Year for
Caylan Koons.
