Fort Myers, FL. - The Sugar Bears are headed to the
ASUN Championship after completing a thrilling
reverse sweep over North Florida on Friday night at Alico Arena. After dropping the first two sets 21–25 and 23–25, Central Arkansas surged back with dominant play down the stretch to take the final three sets 25–21, 25–17, and 15–10, securing a 3–2 victory and a spot in Sunday's title match at
12:00 p.m. CST.
UCA's offense heated up as the match progressed, led by Gabby Tuiaana, who delivered a match-high 18 kills and hit an impressive .438. Laci Bohannan added 17 kills while McKinzee Haas was a force at the net, posting 12 kills and a team-high 6 blocks. Setter Caylan Koons was outstanding, tallying 53 assists, 9 digs, 5 blocks, and 3 aces in a well-rounded performance.
Defensively, libero Alexis McDaniel anchored the back row with 27 digs, helping slow UNF's hitters as the Sugar Bears took control of the final three sets. UCA's blocking also surged late, finishing with 24 total blocks to frustrate the Ospreys' attack.
With the comeback win, Central Arkansas improves to 18–11 and earns its chance to compete for the ASUN Championship on November 23 at 12:00 p.m. CST
