Records Fall for UCA Track at Bryan Clay Invitational

AZUSA, Calif. – It was a historic weekend for the Central Arkansas men's and women's track teams at the prestigious Bryan Clay Invitational, held at Cougar Stadium, as two Bears etched their names into the record books with standout performances in distance events.

Senior Pete Johnson delivered a gutsy effort in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase, crossing the line in 8:49.51 to break the UCA school record. Johnson's time not only set a new program best but also earned him a 15th-place finish in a highly competitive field stacked with elite collegiate talent from across the nation.

On the women's side, Junior Madeline Hill turned in a career-defining performance in the 10,000-meter run, clocking a school-record time of 35:11.97. Hill's remarkable run secured her a 9th-place finish and solidified her status as one of the top long-distance runners in program history.

The record-breaking performances by Johnson and Hill highlighted an impressive showing for the Bears as they competed among some of the best athletes in the country at one of the nation's premier track and field meets.

Up next, the Bears return to action as they continue to build momentum as they head to Fayetteville, Ark. for the John McDonnell Invite, April 24th-25th.
