CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Central Arkansas tennis team turned in a commanding performance on Thursday afternoon, blanking Queens 7-0 at the Howard Levine Tennis Center.

The Bears (10-12) started strong by securing the doubles point behind a 6-2 win from Konomi Miyakawa and V. Vimuktananda at the top court. UCA's duo of Ting-An Chen and Nanami Fukushima also added to the tally with a forfeit victory on court three. The No. 2 doubles match was left unfinished, with UCA's Kazama and Shigemasu leading 5-3.

UCA's momentum carried into singles play, where the team swept all six courts. Seohyun Park set the tone with a decisive 6-1, 6-0 win on court five, while Miyakawa and Vimuktananda rolled to straight-set victories on courts two and one, respectively. Harune Shigemasu capped off the sweep with a hard-fought 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) win at the No. 3 spot.

The Royals (1-18) forfeited both court six singles and the No. 3 doubles matchup.

Central Arkansas returns to action this weekend as they look to continue their strong late-season form heading to Eastern Kentucky on April 13th in Richmond, Ky.
