Seark, Ark. – In a closely contested matchup, the Central Arkansas women's tennis team came up just short against Murray State, falling 4-3 on Sunday.

The Bears started strong in doubles, with the duo of Konomi Miyakawa and Vichitraporn Vimuktananda securing a 6-4 victory over Melato and Chaikovskaia. However, Murray State bounced back to take the doubles point, as Kikawa/Kadowaki edged out Nanoka Kazama and Park 7-5, while Alexeyeva/Campigottos defeated Ting-An Chen and Harune Shigemasu 6-2.

In singles action, UCA put up a fight, claiming three wins but ultimately falling just short. Vimuktananda impressed with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win over Chaikovskaia, and Miyakawa followed with a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Kadowaki. Park also delivered a strong performance, defeating Widan 6-3, 6-1.

Murray State sealed the match by securing wins at key positions. Alexeyeva defeated Kazama 7-5, 6-1, while Kikawa took down Shigemasu 6-4, 6-3. The decisive point came in a hard-fought battle at No. 5 singles, where Melato rallied past Chen 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 to clinch the match for the Racers.
