NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Central Arkansas women's tennis team secured a hard-fought 4-3 win over Lipscomb on Sunday afternoon at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center. The victory marks UCA's first ASUN conference win of the season.

Despite dropping the doubles point, the Sugar Bears (8-9, 1-3 ASUN) battled back in singles play, taking four of six matches to clinch the win. Konomi Miyakawa delivered a clutch performance at the No. 3 singles spot, rallying for a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) victory over Rut Galindo. Harune Shigemasu added a straight-sets win at No. 4, defeating Deborah Collado 6-4, 6-3, while Ting-An Chen and Seohyn Park also secured crucial victories to lift UCA to the win.

In doubles, UCA's top duo of Vimuktananda and Miyakawa earned a 6-3 victory, but Lipscomb (8-5, 2-2 ASUN) took the other two matches to claim the doubles point.

With the win, UCA builds momentum heading into the next stretch of ASUN play. The Sugar Bears will look to carry this energy into their upcoming home match this Friday against North Florida at 11 A.M.
