SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Central Arkansas Bears tennis team endured a tough road trip, falling 4-2 to Kansas City on Saturday before dropping a 6-1 decision to Missouri State on Sunday.  

Against Kansas City, UCA picked up two wins in singles play Vichitraporn Vimuktananda was dominant at the No. 1 spot, blanking Joana Miralles 6-0, 6-0, while Harune Shigemasu secured a hard-fought 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 victory at No. 4. However, Kansas City controlled the doubles portion of the match, sweeping all three courts to claim the opening point before adding three singles wins to clinch the match.

On Sunday, UCA faced Missouri State but struggled to gain momentum, falling 6-1. Seohyun Park provided the Bears' lone victory, earning a straight-set 6-2, 6-4 win over Nicole Ross at No. 3 singles. Harune Shigemasu put up a fight at No. 1 but ultimately fell 6-1, 7-5. Missouri State capitalized on defaults in singles and doubles play while winning the remaining contested matches in straight sets.
