CONWAY, Ark. – Javier Ramirez continues to be an absolute wall in goal for the Central Arkansas men's soccer team this season, earning his third ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week award of the season after his performance against Bellarmine.
 
Ramirez picked up his fourth shutout of the season against the Knights, handing them a shutout loss at home for the first time in 16 matches. He made six saves against Bellarmine, but his efforts went beyond the box score. His ability to come off of his line to intercept crosses and get in front of through balls. Ramirez was perfect keeping a 1-0 lead for 84 minutes, blanking the Knights to move the Bears to 4-3.


He ranks sixth in the nation with his four clean sheets, and he has the most shutouts by a Bear since 2021. He also ranks tenth in the nation in save percentage, stopping 84 percent of shots on goal that he faces. Among ASUN keepers, he ranks first in just about every goalkeeping metric, leading a Bear squad that has allowed just eight goals through seven matches. 


Ramirez and the Bears head out to Queens next Saturday, continuing ASUN play with a 5 p.m. CT kickoff.
