TULSA, Okla. – The University of Central Arkansas tennis program started off its spring schedule with a bang, defeating Oral Roberts 6-1 at Southern Hills Country Club on Saturday night.
The Bears set the tone early in doubles play, with the pairs of Sumomo Hamanaga and Vichitraporn Vimuktananda as well as Konomi Miyakawa and Harune Shigemasu taking down the No. 2 and No. 3 pairs for the Golden Eagles in dominant fashion.
Vimuktananda and Fuka Nonoyama flashed their experience in dominant wins over ORU's No. 1 and No. 2 singles players. Hamanaga and Nanoka Kazama each battled to earn singles wins over the No. 4 and No. 3 singles players respectively.
UCA will get a shot at an experienced Tulsa team on Sunday, January 21st at 10:30 a.m. before taking a weekend off.
