CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Central Arkansas tennis program is set to take on Bellarmine after picking up a win over Eastern Kentucky on Thursday.
The Bears did pick up a dominant win over Tufts University last Tuesday, March 21st. The Bears crushes tufts 6-1 with singles wins by Jaeun Lee, Vichitraporn Vimuktananda, Nanoka Kazama, Sumomo Hamanaga, and Ting-An Chen. The Bears were able to get two of three in doubles play from Tufts with Vimuktananda and Kazama as well as the tandem of Lee and Nicole Ross were able to secure victories in mid-afternoon action.
UCA also opened the first leg of this Kentucky trip with a great showing against EKU. The Bears set the tone with a doubles victory, and then asserted their dominance with a stellar singles play performance, including another victory for both Lee and Vimuktananda.
The Bears will head up to the Bluegrass State this weekend to face the Bellarmine Knights. The Knights have had a bit of a rough go of it in 2023, coming in with a 4-17 record, including a loss to Vanderbilt on Friday, March 31st. UCA has won the only matchup ever between the two, a 6-1 decision in Conway last April.
The Bears will continue their conquest of the Bluegrass State with a showdown with Bellarmine on Sunday, April 2nd at 10:00 a.m.
