CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Central Arkansas tennis program will head back on the road this upcoming weekend to face Kansas City and Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri
These two road games precede a lengthy home stretch for the Bears, who took down in-state foe Harding twice on Sunday. Now sitting at 2-3, UCA is ready to ride momentum into this weekend's action. While the entire team showed flashes of greatness, junior Jaeun Lee won both of her singles matches, including a laborious second match, and freshman Ting-An Chen was a part of two doubles victories.
The Kansas City Kangaroos sit at 1-1 in the spring schedule and are coming off of a big 5-2 win at Northern Iowa. Despite the big win, the Roos were blanked in the doubles matches. UMKC and UCA have squared off five times before, and despite the Roos taking the first three matchups, the Bears have taken the previous two matchups, including a 4-3 victory in Little Rock last season.
The Missouri State Bears come into this weekend's action at 2-1. MSU is coming off of a 5-2 win over Eastern Illinois. MSU has also taken down Drury 4-3 and lost to Louisiana-Monroe 4-3 on the road. The Purple and Grey clad Bears have faced Missouri State six times, with UCA taking all six matchups, with the last coming in 2021. UCA boasts a 2-0 record in Springfield all-time.
UCA will head to Springfield, Mo. to take on UMKC on Saturday, February 11th at 1:00 p.m. Then they will take on Missouri State on Sunday, February 12th at 10:00 a.m.
