CONWAY, Ark – The University of Central Arkansas tennis program hosted its second of three fall tournaments at the Conway Tennis Center this past weekend. The Bears faced the likes of North Texas, Southeastern Louisiana, Missouri State, Austin Peay, and Northwestern State.
UCA had an excellent start to the day on Friday, winning three of four doubles matches to set the tone for the rest of the afternoon. Vichitraporn Vimuktananda, Sumomo Hamanaga, Konomi Miyakawa, Fuka Nonoyama, and Seohyun Park all won in the first round of singles play on Friday. Park carried momentum from an extremely close first match into the second round of singles with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win. Vimuktananda and Hamanaga earned another doubles win on Saturday to round out their impressive weekend.
The Bears will be back in action in the ITA Fall Regional in Lawrence, Kansas. The Bears will be competing with the top talent across the region from Tuesday, October 10th to Sunday, October 15th.
