  CONWAY, Ark. _
Danae Weaver has joined the University of Central Arkansas track and field/cross country staff as pole vault/distance assistant coach, according to head coach
Josey Weaver.
"I am excited to have coach
Danae Weaver by my side," said
Josey Weaver of his wife. "This program will benefit from Coach Weaver being with us. She provides our team with a high level of competitiveness that is unmatched. She will challenge our athletes to perform at their best to help the team."
Weaver was a three-sport collegiate student-athlete at Angelo State (softball/volleyball/track and field) and played on the 2017 NCAA Division II national runnerup in softball and was a first-team All-Region selection. She was also an All-American pole vaulter at Butler Community College and played on the 2016 national championship softball team at Butler. Â
"Firstly, I would like to thank Dr. Teague for giving our family the opportunity to be a part of the Bear family. If there is one common trait about the coaching staff that has been put together, it is the drive to work hard. I could not be more excited to get to work with this staff and the cross country/track and field teams.
"I am confident that we are willing to take on the challenge of what it will take to be competitive in the ASUN. I genuinely hope the student-athletes are as eager as I am to start on this journey together."
