Bears Gear Up for ASUN Championships

CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas cross country teams are in Jacksonville, Florida to compete for the ASUN Championship on Friday. The women will start the day off with a 5k race at 8:15 a.m. ET, followed by the men's 8k race at 9 a.m.

Last time out, the Bears competed in the Crimson Classic in Alabama where Madeline Hill came within three seconds of setting a new school record in the women's 6k race, crossing the finish line at 20:35.4. Abby Machesky and Arizona Blankenship set new personal bests in the 6k race while finishing in the top 100.

On the men's side, Jack Dingman led the team, placing 43rd and finishing in 25:04.3. Mason Bickle, Trae Baker, and Ky Bickford all finished in the top 100 in the 8k race.

In the 2024 ASUN Championships, the women's team took home third place. They will, again, be led by Hill who came in 11th place in last year's championship race with a time of 17:21.7, earning a Second Team All-ASUN selection.

The men finished in sixth place in 2024. The Bears return Dingman, who finished 30th in last season's race, as well as Baker, who finished 42nd and earned a place on the ASUN All-Freshman Team last season.
