HUMBLE, Texas – The University of Central Arkansas men's and women's track teams opened the first day of the Southland Conference Track & Field Championships on Friday in Humble, Texas.
Malik Beasley broke the UCA record in the hammer throw.
Beasley placed ninth in the hammer with a mark of 48.01m (157-6) and set a new UCA record in the process.
Aidan Patton came in 14th with a toss of 39.60m (129-11).
Timon Dresselhaus is currently fourth in the men's decathlon with a score of 3,535. He placed sixth in the 100m, eighth in the long jump, fourth in the shot put, fourth in the high jump, and sixth in the 400m.
Natalie Lark finished the pole vault with a height of 3.53m (11-7.0) and placed ninth.
Max Nores produced a career-best run of 32:04.96 and placed 10th in the 10,000m.
Julian Haessner came in 14th with a personal-best time of 32:20.30.
Tate Whaley posted a run of 32:27.22 and came in 15th.
Parker Jackson notched a mark of 32:44.60 and finished 19th.
Philipp Haessner produced a career-best effort of 33:18.28 and placed 22nd.
Natalie Louw is currently 11th in the women's heptathlon with a tally of 2,755. She placed 13th in the 100m hurdles, sixth in the high jump, fifth in the shot put, and 15th in the 200m.
Jenny Peake is currently 13th with a score of 2,674. She placed 10th in the 100m hurdles, 14th in the high jump, third in the shot put, and 13th in the 200m.
Megan Lee is in 14th with a mark of 2,524. She came in 14th in the 100m hurdles, 17th in the high jump, 10th in the shot put, and 11th in the 200m.
Jaden Harris finished 11th in the long jump with a distance of 6.84m (22-5.25).
Jalal Taylor came in 15th with a leap of 6.64m (21-9.5).
Kennedy Timmerman recorded a personal-best time of 38:38.82 and came in 11th in the 10,000m.
Bekah Bostian notched a career-best mark of 39:26.65 and finished in 14th.
Casey Gore posted a run of 41:00.27 and placed 18th.
Taylor Coleman finished the long jump in 16th with an effort of 5.23m (17-2.0).
Day two of the championship meet will begin at 9 a.m. with the decathlon 110m hurdles. Field events begin at 3 p.m. with the women's shot put. The women's 1,500m will start the running events at 3 p.m. Live results can be found
