Coleman Breaks UCA Record, Jewell Wins Twice as Bears Complete Red Wolves Open

JONESBORO, Ark. – The University of Central Arkansas men's and women's track teams returned to action for the Red Wolves Open on Friday and Saturday. Due to a timing issue, results for Friday were initially unavailable. Taylor Coleman set a UCA record in the triple jump, while Zachary Jewell won the 100m and 200m.
 
Coleman won the triple jump with a career-best mark of 12.35m (40-6.25). Jada Bailey added a personal-best distance of 10.99m (36-0.75) and came in fourth.
 
Ajah Criner won the 100m with a run of 11.89. Kendelle McCoy produced a career-best time of 12.07 and came in third. Criner added another victory in the 200m with a mark of 24.41.
 
Jewell won the 200m with a run of 21.42. Emmanuel Olie produced a personal-best time of 21.71 and placed second. Johnson Adegbite came in fourth with an effort of 22.06.
 
Jewell won the 100m with an effort of 10.46. Olie came in second with a mark of 10.68.
 
Luke Anthony won the javelin with a throw of 54.18m (177-9.0) With a career-best mark of 52.02m (170-8.0), Grant Southerland placed third.
 
Jaden Harris won the triple jump with a personal-best distance of 14.12m (46-4.0).
 
Alec Townsley, Olie, Tristan LaVan, and Jewell won the 4x100m relay with a group effort of 40.86.
 
The group of Ayana Harris, Criner, Tyler Rose, and McCoy combined for a time of 46.78 in the 4x100m relay and came in second.
 
Anna Bommes notched a career-best run of 2:19.56 and finished in second in the 800m.
 
TJ Robinson produced a personal-best time of 3:49.92 and placed second in the 1,500m.
 
Jalal Taylor tied for second in the long jump with a mark of 6.72m (22-0.75).
 
Jordan Atkins placed second in the 110m hurdles with a run of 14.69. Timon Dresselhaus finished fifth with a career-best effort of 15.01.
 
The squad of Jewell, LaVan, Ryan Yarde, and Robinson produced a second-place time of 3:16.74 in the 4x400m relay.
 
Natalie Lark placed third in the pole vault with a height of 3.56m (11-8.0).
 
With a toss of 31.52m (103-5.0), Jenny Peake placed third in the javelin. Megan Lee finished fourth with a mark of 26.29m (86-3.0). Natalie Louw came in fifth with a career-best throw of 25.54m (83-9.0).
 
Louw recorded a third-place finish in the high jump with a personal-best height of 1.61m (5-5.25). Abby McMillin came in fifth with a mark of 1.56m (5-1.25).
 
Zailey Chaffin, Bommes, Lee, and Louw came in third in the 4x400m relay with a combined run of 4:11.02.
 
With a personal-best height of 2.02m (6-7.5), Timquorian Johnson finished fourth in the high jump.
 
Aysha Anderson clocked a career-best time of 59.22 in the 400m and came in fourth. Anderson added a fifth-place time of 14.26 in the 100m hurdles.
 
With a personal-best run of 51.71, Bruce White placed fifth in the 400m.
 
Parker Benefield recorded a mark of 4.46m (14-7.5) and came in fifth in the pole vault.
 
The Bears return to the track for the John McDonnell Invitational hosted by Arkansas on Friday, April 23.
