CONWAY, Ark. - Central Arkansas tennis heads into the final opportunity to get experience before the spring season as they compete in the Hurricane Invite.
The Bears get the opportunity to continue to improve as they head to Tulsa, Okla. for the final fall invite Friday through Sunday.
UCA will once again see a group of big-time programs as they battle Tulsa, Houston, and Wichita State. For the Bears, this trial run in the fall has been filled with numerous power five opponents in a short span. Overall this squad has been successful as they hosted a bunch of wins in the ITA Central Regional and matches before then.
In the previous tournament, UCA was led by the duo of
Chunxi Xin and
Fuka Nonoyama. The pairing made it to the sweet sixteen round in the ITA Central Regional before eventually falling to a team from Nebraska. However, that stellar showcase will host big momentum as they are set for individual battles against the teams competing in the Hurricane Invite.
The format for the current invitational focuses on individual play versus team play. That means each player will get the chance to host their own momentum heading into the spring season. These opportunities will present themselves Friday through Sunday as the invite starts at 2 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday. Tulsa will host all three days at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
