ATLANTA, Ga. – The ASUN released its All-Academic team for women's soccer Wednesday afternoon, made up of student-athletes that make an impact in the classroom and on the pitch. Central Arkansas had two players recognized for their dedication to being great academically and athletically,
Emma Hawkins and
Anika Sultan.
"On a team that finished at the top of our division and historically approaches a 3.5 team GPA, there's no doubt we have many deserving student athletes," Head coach
Jeremy Bishop said of the nod. "Congratulations to Ani and Emma for receiving All-Academic honors. Their efforts on the field and in the classroom are remarkable."
Hawkins received recognition after posting a cumulative GPA of 3.42 while majoring in exercise science. The Forney, Texas native also led the ASUN in goals (13), assists (7) and points (33) during the regular season, nearing almost every offensive record at UCA for both a single season and career marks.
Anika Sultan makes the list after an impeccable record in the classroom. After returning to UCA to start a master's program, Sultan has maintained a 4.0 GPA pursuing a Master's in Business Administration. The Dallas, Texas native has helped lead a midfield that has produced one of the best-scoring offenses in the ASUN while also earning seven clean sheets.
