IOWA CITY, Ia. - Central Arkansas tennis had a variety of successes as the Bears sent one doubles team to the next round. 

The highlight of the day came from the pairing of juniors Chunxi Xin and Fuka Nonoyama, as they continued on to the Round of 16 for doubles. The pairing showcased just how good they were last year as they went undefeated in the Southland, and that fact only showcased itself heading into today. They battled the pairing of Keller and Spink from Arkansas and won in extra points as they claimed it 8-6. Now it is onto the Round of 16, where they will battle Novak and Makoric from Nebraska. That match will take place tomorrow at 9 a.m.

While these two did most of the damage, there are still a few Bears that are hanging around in singles play. Sophomore Maja Gledic claimed her match in the Main Draw Consolation Matches 6-3, 6-2 and will be ready for the Round of 16 as she faces Ioana Gheorghita of Kansas State. 

The fun of Day 3 will start tomorrow as the overall tournament starts at 10 a.m.
