CONWAY, Ark. - The University of Central Arkansas tennis squad continued to showcase their ability in pairs at the 2nd UCA Fall Invitational.
The Bears continue to pile on the victories as they grow their perfect record on the doubles side to 13-0.
Flight 1 Singles:
Sophomore
Chunxi Xin split results in the first two rounds of flight 1. Xin took the matchup against Missouri State's No. 1 before falling to Arkansas State's No. 1 in three sets.
Flight 2 Singles:
Sophomore
Fuka Nonoyama dominated in the second flight as she continues her undefeated streak on the season to 4-0 in singles play. Nonoyama dominated Piskulic of Missouri State as she claimed the first two sets, 6/0 and 6/3. The second match was closer as the first set was a nailbiter 7/5 before she put the nail in the coffin in the second set 6/1.
Flight 3 Singles:
Freshmen
Maja Gledic improved her record to 3-2 after she dropped the first match but returned to win the second-round matchup. In the second round, she faced Arkansas State's Morse and won both sets 6/2.
Flight 4 Singles:
Junior
Yada Vasupongchai showcased her ability as she pushed her overall record to 4-1 on the season. Vasupongchai took on opponents from Louisiana Tech and Arkansas State and dominated both in two sets.
Flight 5 Singles:
Freshmen
Sumomo Hamanaga continued her undefeated season as she went 2-0 against Missouri State and Oral Roberts opponents. Hamanaga finished the first matchup in three sets while taking care of business quickly in the second round.
Flight 6 Singles:
Freshmen
Jaeun Lee was the second freshmen to continue an undefeated streak on the season. Lee took both of her matchups to grow her overall record to 4-0 on the season. Lee took matchups from Louisiana Tech and Arkansas State in day one.
Flight 1 Doubles:
The No. 1 duo of Xin & Nonoyama continued their reign of dominance as they bested the No. 1 team from Louisiana Tech. They were one of the first teams done as they won the matchup 6/3.
Flight 2 Doubles:
The duo of Vasupongchai & sophomore
Mei Ishimura faced off against the No. 2 team from Arkansas State. In that matchup, they easily took advantage and won the matchup 6/0.
Flight 3 Doubles:
The squad of Gledic & Hamanaga also dominated as they won their matchup against Louisiana Tech 6/0.
Flight 4 Doubles:
In the closet doubles contest on the day freshmen,
Paulina Engback & Lee competed in a back and forth matchup. Eventually, the UCA duo was able to take advantage to win the matchup 6/4.

UCA will take the court tomorrow for the second day of the UCA Fall Invitational. The invitational is set to start up tomorrow at 10 a.m.
