CONWAY – The Central Arkansas Bears continued fall play this past weekend at the UCA Fall Invitational and had a strong showing for the second week in a row as they had winners in three singles flights and in one of the doubles flights. The Bears competed against eight other schools that made the trip to Conway and the play was split up into eight flights of singles and four flights of doubles.
RESULTS FROM THE WEEKEND
For singles play:
- Flight One -- Sophomore sensation Chunxi Xin defeated three straight opponents from Harding, conference foe Northwestern State and Oral Roberts to take first place. She won the championship match 6-3, 6-4. The win marked Xin's second straight week of winning her flight.
- Flight Three – Freshman Maja Gledic impressed with three straight match wins over opponents from Missouri State, ORU and Arkansas State to take first place. The win marked Gledic's second straight week of winning her flight.
- Flight Four – Sophomore Mei Ishimura came close to winning her flight as she defeated opponents from Northeastern Oklahoma State and Missouri State before falling in the championship to NSU's freshman Olivia Alfredsson 6-2, 6-3, 10-5.
- Flight Five – Junior Yada Vasupongchai took first place after going through Murray State, HU and senior Berta Masdevall Masip from Arkansas State in the championship.
For doubles play:
- Flight Two – The pairing of Vasupongchai and Gledic shined for Central Arkansas as they defeated pairings from ASU, Missouri State and NSU. The junior/freshman duo faced conference opponents senior Judit Castillo and junior Patrycja Polanska in the final round and won the flight with a 7-5 victory.

The Bears will continue Fall play this weekend in the same spot as last weekend as they will compete in the second part of the UCA Fall Invitational at the UCA Tennis Courts.
