AUSTIN, Texas _ University of Central Arkansas senior Markus Schweikert broke his own school record in the 5,000 meters on Thursday at the prestigious 92nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

    Schweikert, from Spay, Germany, ran a 14:43.23 to finish fourth overall. He broke his own record of 14:45.53 set last year.

    UCA sophomore Alex Hanson finished eighth in the 800 meter invitational in a time of 1:55.08. Junior Jaron Hamilton finished ninth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in a time of 9:29.14.

    On the women's side, freshman Gracie Hyde finished 10th in the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase in a time of 10:51.76. Senior Taylor Dunn was 21st in the 5,000 meters in a time of 18:58.68.
