CONWAY, Ark. _ Both the University of Central Arkansas men's and women's cross country teams were named 2017 NCAA Division I All-Academic teams on Friday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

    The UCA women's cross country program had a 3.53 grade-point average, while the UCA men had a 3.25 GPA. Both programs are under the direction of head coach Richard Martin, along with associate head coach Beau Theriot and assistant coach John Jones.

    UCA's men's squad tied its best finish in last fall's Southland Conference championship with a fourth-place finish. The women's squad finished seventh overall. The UCA men went on to finish 17th at the NCAA South Central Regional meet.
