Springfield, Missouri – The Central Arkansas women's tennis team continued Fall action this weekend, heading to Springfield, Missouri to take part in Missouri State's Fall Invite. Against a host of teams from the SEC, Missouri Valley, Ohio Valley, and Sun Belt, the Sugar Bears turned in a dominant performance, going 19-5 and winning all three singles flights and adding an 8-4 record and one flight championship in doubles action.

Central Arkansas saw Fuka Nonoyama, Marli Van Heerden, and Yada Vasupongchai combine to got 12-0 while dropping just four sets total to sweep the singles championships, while Rada Manataweewat turned in a 3-1 record with her only loss coming to Vasupongchai in the Flight 3 championship match. The Sugar Bears also turned in a successful doubles performance, with Vasupongchai teaming with Mei Ishimura to win Flight 2 and Van Heerden teaming with MSU's Phoebe Boschen to earn a runner-up finish in Flight 3.

"This was an overall great tournament," said UCA head coach Casey Wharton. "I have felt we have had different players do good things at different tournaments this Fall, but this was a tournament where the team as a whole seemed to perform well. I love how we competed, and how we were able to finish matches well. I do believe we can get better as some little things that will make a big difference in the Spring, but those changes will take time, and for now I am excited and feeling very encouraged by how things are going. "

Central Arkansas will close out the Fall this weekend, heading to Monroe, Louisiana to participate in ULM's Warhawk Fall Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
