BEARS SET FOR HOME AND AWAY WITH EVANSVILLE, BRADLEY

Conway – The Central Arkansas men's soccer team returns to action with a pair of matches this week, welcoming the Evansville Aces to the Stephens at 7:00 PM on Tuesday night, before heading to Peoria, Illinois to battle the Bradley Braves at 7:00 PM on Saturday.

Central Arkansas (2-7-1, 0-3-0 MVC) and Evansville have squared off once already this season, with the Aces getting a 1-0, double overtime victory in Evansville, Indiana.
The Bears sit at or near the top of the Missouri Valley in an number of offensive categories including shots per game (15.2), shots on goal per game (5.90), scoring offense (1.60 goals per game), and points per game (4.40). Defensively, the Bears have pitched a pair of shutouts and are allowing 1.51 goals per game. Individually, freshman Niklas Brodacki leads the Valley with six goals on the year and ranks second with 12 points, while senior Wes Carson sits third with five goals and sixth with 11 points. Freshman Krystian Sarzynski has made an impact over the past three games, his first in the purple and gray, picking up a goal and an assist. In goal, freshman Marc Olsen ranks second in the conference in total saves (47) and saves per game (4.70), while compiling a save percentage of .746.

"Evansville is obviously a team that we know well," said UCA head coach Ross Duncan. "When we played up there we matched up really well and were unfortunate not to come home with some points. Playing at home will give us and edge and we will be out to get after them. The turnaround is quick this time of year, so the preparation for Tuesday night started as soon as we finished the game in Springfield. And the prep for Bradley will start as soon as we finish with Evansville. But our boys are one hundred focused on Tuesday night. They know this is a great opportunity for us."

The Aces (6-5-1, 2-1-0 MVC) are coming off a pair of losses in their last two games. Evansville fell 1-0 to Missouri State on October 1st, before #15 Kentucky handed them a 3-1 loss on October 5th. UE ranks in the top three in the Valley in points per game (4.83), assists per game (1.83), and scoring offense (1.50), while allowing 1.46 goals per game. Junior Ian McGrath is tied with Brodacki for the league lead in goals, while sophomore Zac Blaydes ranks second with six assists. In goal, freshman Frederik Reimer has made 30 saves while allowing 1.23 goals per game. The win earlier this season pushed the Aces' lead in the all-time series to 7-1-0.

Bradley (2-7-3, 0-2-1) played SIU to a scoreless draw in Peoria on Saturday. On the year the Braves average 0.75 points per game while allowing 1.33. Junior Richard Olsen leads the BU attack with three goals and an assist this year, while six Braves have scores once. In goal senior Logan Ketterer leads the Valley in total saves (60) and saves per game (5.00), while compiling a save percentage of .779. Bradley holds a 6-2-2 edge in the all-time series, including a 3-2 win in Conway last season.
