North Little Rock, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's tennis celebrated the careers of the most successful group of seniors in program history on Saturday, before facing off with the Abilene Christian Wildcats. The Bears were unable to get anything going in the match, falling to the Wildcats 4-0.
Abilene Christian (12-6, 7-4 SLC) grabbed the doubles point by taking two of the three doubles matches. Nataly Yoo and Cassidy Crawford dropped the no. 1 match 8-5 to Brittney Reed and Kaysie Hermsdorf, while Kristina Horsikyan and Bianca Strukelj lost the no. 3 match to Lucile Pothier and Carli Knezevich by a tally of 8-3. The no. 2 match between Kelsey Williams and Allison Murphy and Erin Walker and Whitney Williams.
In singles play, the Bears (9-6, 4-6 SLC) were unable to turn the match around, dropping three matches. Williams dropped the no. 2 match 6-2, 6-0 to Walker, while Crawford fell in the no. 5 match 6-2, 6-1 to Potnier. Strukelj fell in the no. 6 match 6-1, 6-0 to Nada Marjanovic. The nos. 1, 3, and 4 matches all went unfinished.
The Bears will wrap up their regular season on Monday, travelling to Belton, Texas to take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The match will begin at 10:30 AM.
