Hammond, La. – The Central Arkansas tennis team travelled to Hammond, Louisiana for a Southland Conference match against the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions. The match was delayed for three and a half hours due to rain and because of the delay, and the doubles matches went unplayed. When all was said and done, the Bears were unable to come away with the victory, falling to the Lady Lions 4-2.
In the no. 1 match, Simona Horsikyan fell 6-2, 6-2 to Renee Villarreal, while Kelsey Williams dropped the no. 2 match 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 to Nastya Tokareva. Kristina Horsikyan lost the no. 3 match to Valya Rusakova by a score of 6-4, 2-6, 6-3, and Cassidy Crawford was defeated 6-1, 6-2 by Reginka Nychytailova in the no. 4 match. Krizia Buck kept her winning streak alive in the no. 5 match, defeating Margaux Kaltenbacher 6-3, 6-4. The victory extended her streak to ten matches. In the no. 6 match, Bianca Strukelj scored a 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 victory over Avika Sagwal to improve to 3-2 on the season.
Central Arkansas will return to action on Sunday, heading to New Orleans, Louisiana to face off against the University of New Orleans at 10:00 in the morning.
