UCA MEN NINTH AT NCAA CROSS COUNTRY REGIONAL


    FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. _ The University of Central Arkansas Bears finished ninth out of 23 teams on Friday at the NCAA South Central Cross Country Championships at the University of Arkansas' Agri Park. 

    Led by senior Jonathan Burgess, the Bears finished with 300 points. Burgess, a senior from Queensland, Australia, finished 16th overall, covering the 10K course in 30:16.9. Junior Albert Maeder finished 61st in a time of 31:32.8, followed by freshman Brant Cook in 66th (31:37.2), junior Josh Quiroga in 77th (31:48.2) and sophomore Grant Williams in 80th (31:48.9). 

    Freshman Julien Jeandree finished 109th (32:30.6) while senior Connor Ryan was 131st (33:18.2).

    On the women's side, UCA only had three finishers and did not receive a team score on the 6K course. Sophomore Brigette Caruthers led the way, finishing 75th in a time of 22:25.4. Junior Sophie Clauss came in 121st in a time of 23:49.1, while senior Emily Carroll was 140th (25:06.4).
