The Central Arkansas men's soccer team travelled to Albuquerque, New Mexico on Friday to battle Cal-State Northridge. The Bears were unable to contain the Matador offense, falling 4-1.
The Matadors (5-0-0) jumped to an early lead, as Sagi Lev-Ari fielded a deflection inside the six yard box and put it just inside the far post in the 15
th minute. Taylor Hart evened the score at 1-1 in the 49
th minute, collecting a pass from Jaden Hoth and slamming it home for his third goal of the season. Lev-Ari put the Matadors back on top in the 65
th minute, and Chris Smith and Edwin Rivas added insurance goals in the 80
th and 84
th minutes, respectively.
Taran Meyer played all 90 minutes in net for the Bears (3-2-0) making seven saves and allowing four goals. Adam Hobbs allowed one goal, in net for the Matadors.
The Bears return to the pitch on Sunday, facing off against Santa Clara at 11:00 am.
