UCA TENNIS FALLS TO SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA

Kristina Horsikyan picked up the only UCA victory on Saturday
Conway, Ark. –

The Central Arkansas tennis team was at home on Saturday afternoon, hosting Southeastern Louisiana in Conway. The Lions (11-0) defeated the Bears (6-10) by a score of 6-1.

In doubles play, all three matches went to Southeastern to give the Lions the 1-0 lead. Sarah Kriem and Reginka Nychytailova defeated Simona Horsikyan and Allison Murphy 8-3 in no. 1 doubles play. In no. 2 play, Valya Rusakova and Nastya Tokareva took down Krizia Buck and Sasha Ruocco 8-5. The final doubles match saw Adriana Castillo and Renee Villareal defeat Kristina Horsikyan and Anna Buyukyan 8-6.

In singles play, the Lions took five of six matches. Nychytailova defeated Simona Horsikyan 6-4, 2-6, 6-2. Allison Murphy fell to Tokareva 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 in no. 2 play. In the no. 3 match, Kristina Horsikyan earned the only Central Arkansas point of the day, defeating Rusakova 7-6, 3-6, 6-3. Kriem took down Buck in no. 4 play 6-4, 6-3. The no. 5 match went to Villareal, who defeated Ruocco 6-4, 6-0. The final match of the day was a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 victory by Isabel Brito over Anna Buyukyan.

Central Arkansas returns to the court next Saturday, hosting Southland Conference foe Northwestern State. Next Sunday, Stephen F. Austin will face the Bears in Conway.
