CONWAY, Ark. _ The Northwestern State women’s tennis team blanked the University of Central Arkansas 7-0 on Saturday in Southland Conference action at the UCA tennis complex.
Northwestern State improved to 5-5 and UCA dropped to 6-10.
In singles action, Northwestern State’s Polina Konop defeated UCA’s Simona Horsikyan 6-2, 7-5 at No. 1. Tatiana Larina beat UCA’s Allison Murphy 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. At No. 3 singles, Natalya Krutova topped Kristina Horsikyan 6-0, 6-3, while Andrea Nedorostova beat Krizia Buck 7-5, 6-3.
At No. 5 singles, Olga Leyshyna defeated Sasha Ruocco 6-4, 6-2, and Daniela Simonova topped UCA’s Anna Buyukyan 6-4, 2-6, 14-12.
In doubles action, Larina/Nedorostova beat Murphy/S. Horsikyan 8-3. Konop/Krutova downed Ruocco/Buck 8-2 and Amy Williams/Simonova beat K. Horsikyan/Buyukyan 8-5.
UCA hosts Stephen F. Austin a 10 a.m. Sunday.
