CONWAY -- A day after scoring a 6-1 win over McNeese State, Central Arkansas suffered a loss by the same margin at the hands of Lamar on Saturday.

Freshman Kristina Horsikyan defeated Lamar's Carolina Maso 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 in No. 3 singles to pick up the Sugar Bears' lone win for the day.

The Sugar Bears had a pair of close losses in doubles play as Simona Horsikyan/Kazumi Otani were narrowly defeated 8-7 by the Lamar tandem of Natalia Mayagoitia/Alessandra Pennesi; and Kristina Horsikyan/Sasha Ruocco came up shy in an 8-6 loss Helene Czudek/Carolina Maso.

UCA will play its final home match of the season on Sunday when the Sugar Bears host UMKC beginning at 10 a.m.
