SUGAR BEARS FALL AT HOME TO ULM, 4-0

CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Central Arkansas tennis team was back in action today, but fell at home to the ULM Warhawks by the count of 4-0. The two teams were originally scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. but the match was moved to the 3:15 p.m. Due to the late start, the teams did not compete in doubles play.
 
With the victory, ULM improved their season record to 8-2, while UCA dropped their fourth straight and fell to 5-8.
 
The Warhawks, who picked up their fourth straight win, didn’t drop a set on the afternoon.
 
At No. 1 singles, Sophie Rufyikiri picked up the win over Simona Horsikyan, 6-1, 6-1. Medy Blankvoort downed Kristina Horsikyan, 6-1, 6-3 in No. 3 doubles. Sasha Ruocco fell to Ema Turudija, 6-3, 6-4 and Maribelle Siegfried, playing at No. 6 singles for the first time this year, lost to Monica Winkel, 6-0, 6-1.
 
Allison Murphy (No. 2 singles) and Stephanie Gonzalez-Valero (No. 5 singles) went unfinished in their matches.
 
The Sugar Bears will look to get back in the win column and also pick up their first victory in Southland Conference play when they travel to Texas State on Sunday. Match time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
